What is the comedy?

comedy means disharmony， the level of disharmony is hinger, the effect of comedy is better.  So, the structure of disharmony is unsymmetrical.

There are many kinds of comedy, some comedy focus on structure, some comedy focus on dialogue.  But for me, i want to focus on physical comedy.

Physical comedy means : Simply relying on misunderstandings and coincidences to produce comic effects.

There are many famous comedy actors use physical comedy to perform. like Jim Carrey

Some directors will use canned laughter in the comedy, because it can create an atmosphere of laughter and infection audience.  It is necessary to stimulate the performers and feedback.

Before publish the film, director take a test shooting, it was used to test the level of  funny. Audience watch the test shooting and they will write the score about the test shooting.

Mr Bean

Mr. Bean is a British sitcom created by Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis, and starring Atkinson in the title role. Atkinson co-wrote all fifteen episodes with either Curtis, Robin Driscoll, or both, with Ben Elton co-writing the pilot. Rowan Atkinson is similar to Chaplin, they are focus on comedy.

Chaplin is likely to use comedy to narrative  the sadness.
Mr Bean,  it is more close to the humorous.

Rowan Atkinson like using exaggerated facial expressions, his movie is rely on the storyboard.
Chaplin use many body language to communicate, his film use a lot of music to narrate.

Mr Bean we are introduced to the comic tradition of physical comedy. Physical comedy is a distinctive form of comedy that plays on the assumed predictability and regularity of social reality.

Such an exaggeration of the knees and arms helps to convey the idea that the character of Mr Bean is a string puppet responding to the desires and intentions of Rowan Atkinson.

It is a comedy movie, and i like comedy very much. i think this movie is a good sample to explain - use comedy to narrative the sadness.

my Subject

my subject of study is how to use techniques ( sound effect, music, body language, lens)to narrative in silence comedy, especially to express  the feeling of actor.

 Jack tati use a lot of sound effect. especially in kitchen scene
